How To Become a Travel Agent
Launch a travel career with mentorship, proven systems, and flexible remote work at Magic Expeditions.
Do you love Disney destinations and helping others plan unforgettable vacations? Have friends or family ever told you, “You should be a Disney travel agent”?
At Magic Expeditions, we help turn that passion into a real, professional travel agent career — not a hobby. We have a team of motivated, detail-oriented travel professionals who deliver outstanding service while growing a commission-based business.
We are an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner (Earmarked Agency) and a U-Preferred Agency with Universal Parks & Resorts. Our advisors also plan cruises, all-inclusive resorts, guided group travel, and more. You’ll receive hands-on training, proven systems, and the support of a collaborative, experienced team.
But here’s the honest part: this role takes more than loving travel. Successful advisors bring grit, follow-through, and a willingness to market themselves, build relationships, and close sales.

Who This Role Is GREAT For
|
This could be a great fit if you…
Our most successful agents come from backgrounds like marketing, customer service, and other sales-driven industries. You don’t need previous travel agent experience. We will help you! |
This is an independent contractor, commission‑based role — not salaried employment. Success is tied to sales performance.
Who This Role Isn't Right For
We want every new agent to feel excited and set up for success. This opportunity probably isn’t the right fit if:
If that sounds like you, no worries. We’d rather you know up front so you don’t invest time in the wrong fit.
- You’re mainly looking for free or discounted Disney trips
- You don’t enjoy sales, networking, or building relationships
- You prefer a steady hourly wage or salary (this is commission only)
- You’re only looking for a small side hobby rather than a business

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to have worked as a travel agent before?
No. No experience is required to become a travel agent with Magic Expeditions. We provide training and support so you can learn the best practices from the start. What matters more is your sales drive, professionalism, and passion for travel.
IS this a remote position?
Our agents work from home across the U.S. You can live and work anywhere, as long as you have reliable internet, a dedicated space to work, and are motivated to build your client list.
Do I get free or discounted Disney trips as part of this role?
No. This is a sales career, not a “get free travel” opportunity.
Can I do this part-time?
Yes. Some agents start part-time, but the ones who thrive treat it like a business from the beginning. If you’re only looking for a hobby, this likely isn’t the right fit.
Is this a paid job or commission only?
This is a commission-based independent contractor role. Your income depends on your sales and client service. The more you sell, the more you earn.
What training and support do you provide?
We provide structured training from our key partners (such as Disney), but also training on sales and all of our agency systems. We offer one-on-one mentorship with the agency owner and the collaborative support of the entire team. You will have access to agency-exclusive tools, templates, and photos to use for client care and marketing.
What makes Magic Expeditions different from other agencies?
Our support for our team sets us apart. We have so many resources and templates for our agents to use, mentorship directly with the owner, and the support of a collaborative team. We are also recognized by Disney Destinations as an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner (Earmarked Agency) and U-Preferred Agency with Universal Parks & Resorts, so we have the support of our partners as well. You are not left on your own to figure out how to become a thriving travel agent. We give you the steps and tools to succeed.
DO you provide leads to new travel agents?
Magic Expeditions receives inbound client inquiries, but leads are not guaranteed and are earned based on performance, readiness, and availability.
Magic Expeditions offers opportunities for motivated sales professionals to become remote travel advisors (focusing on Disney and other family destinations) and build a rewarding career in travel sales.
