Quick Travel Tips, Inspiring Ideas, & Expert Advice

What should I pack in my Disney Parks day bag?

4/16/2021

Disney Packing List
Many families choose to bring a backpack while at Disney Theme Parks. You can typically bring it on most attractions or there is free storage at each ride for your items. You may not need every one of these items listed below, but this is a general guide to help you plan.

First – let’s talk about what type of bag to bring. What type of bag is best for a day at Disney Parks?

We recommend a small or medium-sized backpack that has comfortable straps for all-day wear.  You don’t want a pack too big that weighs you down all day.

We also recommend selecting a bag with minimum pouches/pockets built into it. As part of park security, your bags may be thoroughly searched before you can enter. This process will go faster if you have fewer compartments in your bag.

Now – what should you pack in your Disney Parks Day Bag?

Here’s our full list. You know your family best, so you may need to eliminate or add things to best suit you.

  • Copy of your Magic Expeditions daily itinerary
  • Extra face masks (2 per person)
  • Smartphone with the My Disney Experience app loaded
  • External battery charger for phone
  • Camera/Video Camera (if you don't want to use your phone!)
  • Adult photo ID - if you plan to purchase alcohol
  • Sunscreen
  • Ponchos
  • Chapstick
  • Sunglasses
  • One or two Ziploc bags – multiple uses for these!
  • Antibacterial hand wipes (hand sanitizer is good also, but wipes can come in handy)
  • If you have little kids, an extra change of clothes in case of spills/accidents
  • Band-Aids (Moleskin or athletic tape can also be a good blister fix!)
  • Tylenol/Ibuprofen and any special medicine your family may need for the day
  • Pennies and Quarters if you like pressed penny souvenirs
  • Pins & Lanyards if you want to collect/trade pins
  • Small snacks for kids
  • Water bottles, cooling towels, and mini-fans are also great items in the summer months!

If you have a baby/toddler, consider these also:
  • Diapers
  • Wipes
  • Disposable changing mats
  • Disposable bibs
  • Baby food
  • Take & Toss cup
  • Take & Toss spoons/forks
  • Take & Toss bowls/lids
