Sandals Saint Vincent: My Honest Review of the Caribbean’s Newest Sandals Resort

Sandals has opened its newest resort in Saint Vincent, and I had the chance to experience it firsthand.

​This island retreat combines lush mountains, volcanic beaches, and modern luxury. Below, I’ll share my full review of the rooms, dining, activities, and overall vibe — plus what makes Saint Vincent unique among Caribbean destinations.

Where Is Saint Vincent and the Grenadines?

​​Saint Vincent is part of the island nation Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, located in the southern Caribbean near Saint Lucia, Barbados, and Grenada.

It is just a four-hour flight from Miami, so it may be a closer paradise than you think!

This volcanic island is known for its dramatic mountain peaks, lush rainforests, and black-and-white sand beaches.

​Unlike more developed islands, Saint Vincent feels untouched and authentic — the perfect backdrop for Sandals’ first resort here.

First Impressions

​My first impressions were simple: beautiful island, huge modern room, delicious food, and attentive staff.

From the moment I arrived, I felt the difference. A cool towel, a refreshing drink in the Sandals Club Lounge, and seamless check-in set the tone. By the time I walked into my suite, my luggage was already waiting!

The speedy luggage delivery was a small thing that really impressed me.

Rooms: Spacioius, Modern, and Fresh

​I stayed in the Lady Palm Club Suite with Media Room and Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub (room 3213). My room was huge, clean, and fresh — one of the largest I’ve ever had at a Sandals resort.

The extra living space and the private soaking tub on the balcony made it feel indulgent and comfortable.

I enjoyed the complimentary WiFi throughout my entire stay.  I never had issues checking in on work email, making WiFi phone calls, or sharing real-time updates on social media while there.

Dining: A Standout Culinary Experience

One of the biggest highlights of my stay was the food. Sandals Saint Vincent offers a wide variety of dining options:

• Sora – My favorite. I had the Penne all’Arrabbiata, and it was outstanding. If I wasn’t so full, I would have ordered another dish.
• ​Scrimshaw – Great for both table-service breakfast and dinner.  They specialize in seafood at dinner and have a variety of options for a la carte breakfast.  
• Butch’s Island Chop House – Excellent fine dining (reservations recommended).  This is where you will enjoy a great steak during your stay.  
• Gatsu Gatsu – Fresh and flavorful Asian fusion.  Sushi-lovers must check out this one!  
• Buccan - Serves up local "Vincy" flavors for those seeking an authentic dining experience on St. Vincent!
• Parisol (Poolside) – A casual lunch spot where you can have a sandwich, tropical drink, and enjoy the ocean waves.  
• Isola – Takeout pizza and salads for when you need a quick bite!  (There's always room for pizza, right?)
• Room Service – The menu is available via QR code on your TV in your room.  You call from your room to place your order.  My order arrived within just 25 minutes - right at lunchtime.
• AND MORE  –  There are also on-site coffee shops, sweet treats, and smaller bars around the property.

What I love about Sandals dining is that it’s all included. You can order multiple entrees, appetizers, or desserts without worrying about the bill. Menus are subject to change, but every meal I had was excellent.  Sandals also has a strict "no tipping policy" at its restaurants.  Your gratuities are included in your room price, so don't worry - your servers are taken care of!

Activities: From Snorkeling to Swim-Up Bars

Sandals Saint Vincent has a variety of activities, and snorkeling was the highlight for me.

• Snorkeling – Included with your stay. Natural reefs teemed with colorful fish. The boat ride to the reef took less than five minutes.
• Bat Cave Snorkel – A unique experience where we swam into a cave filled with hundreds of bats. Wild, unforgettable, and definitely something to check off the list.
• Pools & Bars – Multiple pools, including a lively swim-up bar with music. Perfect for socializing, though I often preferred relaxing on the beach with a book.
• Red Lane Spa - The spa offers a variety of treatments you can book while there.  (If you are staying in a butler suite, your butler can assist you with reservations, too!)  There are additional pools and relaxing spaces you can enjoy even if you don't book a treatment appointment.

Beach and Scenery

This property is stunning. On one side, lush green mountains with mist settling over them; on the other, the sparkling Caribbean Sea. The beach itself has a unique look, with a natural blend of volcanic black sand and soft white sand.

The water was SO clear during my stay, but it is worth noting that beach conditions are always subject to change.  Mother Nature will always have the final say - in any destination!  

We never had trouble finding chairs at the pool or beach.  There was plenty of space and towels found nearby.  

Evenings brought some of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen in the Caribbean.

​Service and Atmosphere

​From the moment of arrival, the staff impressed me with their attentiveness.

No wristbands, no towel cards — just genuine hospitality.

​The landscaping deserves a mention, too.  I’m not a gardener at all, but the flowers and gardens here blew me away. Everything felt vibrant and cared for.

Why Choose Sandals Saint Vincent?

​This resort is beautifully designed and located on an island that still feels undiscovered. If you want to experience something fresh before it becomes widely known, Sandals Saint Vincent is worth a look.

This is the perfect resort for adults (all guests must be 18+) who want a unique experience beyond a "typical" tropical getaway.  Sandals is known for special romance-oriented trips like honeymoons and anniversary vacations, but they also welcome friend groups, girlfriend getaways, and solo travelers.  You don't have to be a couple to stay at Sandals!

Bottom line:  Don’t sleep on Saint Vincent — I wouldn’t be surprised if more resorts follow here soon.

Is Sandals Saint Vincent all-inclusive?

Yes, like all Sandals resorts, unlimited dining, drinks, water sports, entertainment, and gratuities are included.

Do you need reservations for restaurants?

For most restaurants, no.  Reservations are recommended for Butch's Island Chop House though.  All other dining is first-come, first-served.

What’s the beach like?

The beach has a unique mix of black volcanic and white sand, with calm waters and plenty of seating.  You will see some staff walking around the beach to take drink orders too.  There are a few butler suites that are right on the beach.  We can help you book the right room category so you are just steps away from the ocean and have a butler to bring you a cooler of drinks and attend to your every need!  

Is snorkeling included at Sandals?

Yes. Daily snorkeling trips are included, with reefs just minutes away by boat.

When did Sandals Saint Vincent open?

It opened in 2024 as the newest Sandals property in the Caribbean.
